EDF Energy is proposing to start its consultation on the Sizewell proposals this coming winter. EDF Energy plans to submit an application to the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC) in 2011, following the completion of a comprehensive public consultation programme. The IPC will examine projects of national significance and its recommendations and decisions must be taken in accordance with national policy, taking into account the local impacts of any proposal.
EDF Energy is about to undertake investigative studies on the land identified for Sizewell C. Once the investigative works are completed, the team will be able to prepare more detailed plans for the new power station. We will be updating the community on a regular basis and will make new information available as part of the consultation process.
