Consultation with the community, political representatives and a wide range of stakeholders will be an important part of EDF Energy's nuclear new build programme at Sizewell. We have already organised events in the local area to discuss the possibility of a new nuclear power station at Sizewell and we will be stepping up our consultation activities as we develop our proposals
Consultation with local communities and other interested parties is a central part of the planning process. EDF Energy will be following the guidance of the Infrastructure Planning Commission (IPC), and will make sure that local residents and others are able to have their say on the proposals. As our plans develop, we will be publishing a Statement of Community Consultation (SOCC) which will explain how we will be consulting on our proposals. This will include local events where people can meet the EDF Energy team and ask any questions.
EDF Energy will be engaging with all of the local authorities in the area. This includes those in close proximity to Suffolk Coastal District Council, as well as authorities from Norfolk right down to Essex.
The consultation programme will be lead by Angela Piearce, Head of Off-Site Developments at Sizewell

As the programme begins we will be communicating through newsletters, local events, adverts and the website advertising the key dates and events.
